US Foods Finance Manager II in Birmingham, Alabama
Position is responsible for the finance oversight for Stock Yards in Birmingham, AL. The position reports to Director of Stock Yards Finance. This includes completion of period financial statements as well as maintaining internal controls and providing financial leadership and support to the division and to the Stock Yards National Management team. This position will also oversee the daily finance and accounting functions for the division.
The following duties are completed independently, but with oversight and assistance of the Director of Stock Yards Finance as needed.
Completion of the monthly, quarterly and annual close process for Stock Yards Birmingham. Preparation of monthly financial statements including income statements and balance sheets for the division. Analyze and explain significant variances from budgeted and/or forecasted amounts.
Analysis and review of monthly operating reports and completion of monthly financial reporting to the Division leader, the Stock Yards National team, and corporate finance. This includes completion monthly Flux reporting, balance sheet reconciliations and Quarterly Letter of Representation.
Oversight of daily finance and accounting functions, including production reporting, accounts payable, accounts receivable and inventory control. Insure the location is compliant with the finance policies and procedures of US Foods.
Provide Finance leadership and support to the division by analyzing results and operations to make recommendations to drive financial performance, including operational efficiency, expense control and sales and margin growth.
Completion of the key financial planning tools including the annual operating plan for the division, weekly flash, the periodic forecasting models (Proj) and other financial projects. - Coordination and oversight of division capital planning and spending.

Education/Training: Education/Training: BA/BS in Accounting, CPA/CMA preferred
Related Experience: 5 years accounting experience (at least 3 years in meat processing or manufacturing industry, preferred and minimum 2 years supervisory experience, preferred)
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: Strong financial accounting background to include GAAP. Strong analytical and leadership skills. Ability to manage multiple responsibilities. Strong skills with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook).
